About Us

The Notts Hotel is a hidden gem – a small, intimate, family-run haven of tranquillity in what is arguably not only the last real ale pub in Cleethorpes but also the best. (CAMRA Cleethorpes Pub of the Year 2013).

We are situated on the sea-front at the highest point in Cleethorpes – just a stone’s throw away from the beach and promenade – offering unrivalled panoramic views over the ornamental Pier Gardens and the sea.

The Nottingham House Hotel is an ideal base to stay whether it be for business or pleasure. The hotel is ideally located for all the local tourist attractions and in addition within easy travelling distance to the A180 which is only 20 minutes via car/bus.

On the ground floor the pub offers three traditional bars with open fires in the winter months. We are a Tetley’s house and serve what is considered to be not only one of the best pints in the town, but in the wider locality. We have 5 guest beers and 5 Ciders on every week.

Our restaurant on the first floor – run by Chef Andrew Smith – offers food and service second to none, (See Trip Advisor reviews). Andy holds a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence – offered to only 10% of Trip Advisor restaurants. Everything served is fresh, locally sourced and freshly cooked when ordered. Views from tables 3 or 7 in the two dining rooms are exceptional and a feature of the establishment. Fish is a speciality with Haddocks fresh from Grimsby Docks coming in every day, seasonally chosen potatoes for chipping and our own mushy peas sell themselves. Always a choice of 2 or 3 fresh fish availability depending on the morning’s fish market. Home-made soups are a speciality as are our desserts – if you can find room for them!

The accommodation – 2 x double / twin rooms with sea views and 1 x single room have all been recently tastefully and sympathetically refurbished to a very high standard. They are bright, stylish and spacious. All the rooms have flat screened TVs with radio and FREE WiFi. En suite bathrooms and fitted wardrobes in all of the rooms. Hairdryers and complimentary toiletries are available in the rooms. We have a night-porter service and tea and coffee making facilities.

All bedrooms are no pets and non-smoking. Booking is essential and long-stay deals are available.

We were only there for one Saturday night, but it was a great. The room was lovely, a big comfortable bed & it had a view over the beach & sea (though the tide was out on the Saturday afternoon!). Sunday morning I opened the curtains & the sea was right up to the promenade, the sun was shining & it was perfect.
A young lady (Anne) greeted us on arrival & was very welcoming, showed us up to our room, explaining how everything worked & how we could come & go outside the pub opening times – very useful for a smoker!.
Breakfast on Sunday morning was a better breakfast than I’ve experienced in many other higher-priced hotels, but they do have a well-deserved reputation for their food. Anne was there again, asking us how we’d enjoyed our Saturday evening and taking our order – a perfect hostess.
All-in-all an excellent experience & I hope to visit, for a longer stay, sometime soon.

We had our wedding meal here, back in June this year, for family and friends, after sneekily tying the knot, and honeymooning, in total secret, the week before. The staff were absolutely brilliant and understood our particular needs (i.e. not being able to give a specific menu requirement). We had 5 young children with us, aged 2 to 11, and they were very well looked after. The meals were excellent, and what can you say about the Real Ale? Well, if you can find a better selection and consistant quality of ales in the area, I need to know. Thanks to all at The Notts. You really made our day. (sorry about the Brats!!)
